Hey ya! Just saw your video playing De noite na cama, and I couldn´t go away from the computer before finding a way to reach you. I´m a brazillian bossa nova addicted, and just had to tell you: lovely n charming, sublime reached through the echoes of the soul! Well, that´s it! Farewell, saravá!

Hi. I saw your videos on YouTube while looking for a tenor banjo to play. I really enjoy the way you are expanding the pallette of this instrument and using it in bossa. I can't exactly explain it (words aren't my strong suit), but the sound of major 7s, 9s, etc on a banjo is the sound of idyllic summer nights, and I thank you for recording these songs for all of us to enjoy. Two questions. 1) I see that you play around Chicago - any plans to play in MPLS? I know tenor banjo isn't really the $$$ racket to be in, but I can only imagine the ways in which your sets must kill - it would be awesome to see you perform at the Fine Line or Triple Rock. 2) Do you plan on recording more bossa banjo material that can be downloaded? (and although I think I know the answer to this - you tune DGBE, not CGDA, right?). Anyway, thanks for playing such good music.

Hi Mercedez, I'm a brazilian living in Vienna and - as you - I love bossanova. I was able to creat e a small group "Brazil, Samba and Bossanova" to perform in charity concerts and parties. We use some of your videos as reference (berimbau is one of them) and my clleagues and me lve the way you do brazilian music. Please, keep songs coming. Warm regards from a cold Vienna. Nat PS - I studied in Argonne National Laboratory (Chicago university) and the house of blues near to Hilton Hotel (Michigan Avenue) was my prefered place in this city.

I play instro surf and drag in so. cal. but i have always loved jazz and bossa nova. i wish you were a little closer, i would grab some lessons from you. I was suprised to see you were from the home of the phantom surfers and the purple onion in s. f. just thought i would let you know it was very inspiring. nice work.

i heard "berimbau" in brazil (recife) circa 1964 on an lp by oscar castro neves performed at what sounded like a stadium with a million brazillians going crazy over the performance by his group. the album was lost in my travels, but i still consider it to be the greatest live performance of any jazz piece ever. it started out in slow tempo and built to a frenetic tempo-think "bolero "on steroids. i think it was a sexual experience for most of the audience by their responce. today was my first exposure to you and your trio. it was an exceptional experience. your gitarist is incredibly creative in the way she changed the chord structure into these incredibly smooth changes making it into an even more incredible piece than i thought humanly possible. you are all extremely talented. i enjoyed it so much that i went to "best buy" and purchased a new speaker system for my computer. you guys are great.

I broke one of my cymbals yesterday (the first in 18 yrs) and browsed thru youtube in search for something soothing (actually some bossa by joyce) and stumbled upon your performaces. you're a gem! i forgot all about the mishap over my long lost instrument and just had to play all yer stuff i could find. being a long-time lover (of bossa and trad. bazilian music in general) and frequent visitor of portugal i could swear that you're a native portuguese speaker, is that so? if not... you have that beautiful flowing rhythm in pocket. is it possible to buy/download your music from somewhere? if not i think you should definitely "pull a marillion" and record some tunes and sell them via net. your performances might not attract the big crowds (their loss) but i bet there are a few admireres of yer work around the globe who would really appreciate it. keep up the superb work - kaikkea hyvää. JB, Suomi/Finland

Dear Miss Mercedes Landazuri: Discovered your talent this evening on Youtube, searching for soothing Bossa Music (Waters of March) while lingering in this historical Land of Babylon (Iraq). There's nothing more that can calm my mind, soul and spirit than to listen to meditating music from talented artist like you. I wish I can be there in person to attend one of your performance. I would like to convey and share your talent to my three sons (Gideon, Nathaniel and Gabriel), whom I hope will be inspired by your artistic style. I would like to purchase your music CD's, and if I may, also buy copies of your Youtube personal performances. Please let me know if this is possible. You may send me an email at cbrillantes01@yahoo.com or chris.d.brillantes@us.army.mil. Thank you for sharing your talent to music lovers, like me.
